The 17-year-old star's desire to become a model was sparked after she accompanied the 58-year-old actress to photo shoots as a child.
"I definitely gained a lot of interest from those experiences and especially being privileged enough to experience them at a young age," Sunday told the March issue of Elle Australia magazine.
"My mum is someone who has always been so creative and my biggest inspiration in life. She's a key part of everything I do."
Kidman and her ex-husband, singer Keith Urban, encouraged Sunday and their other daughter, Faith, 15, to chase their dreams from a young age.
Sunday - who made her runway debut for Miu Miu's spring/summer 2025 collection in October 2024 - recalled: "Something that's always been followed in my house is doing, not just saying.
"It basically means that if you say you're going to do something, stick to your word and do it. Don't just talk about how much you want to, but actually put your mind to it and get it done."
But Sunday's ultimate dream is to become a filmmaker, an interest sparked after watching Parasite, the 2019 Oscar-winning dark comedy-thriller.
"I've watched it, like, eight times," she said.
And her mum's "biggest piece of industry advice" for Sunday is to "always be on time".
"There's always going to be something with an early call time that you don't want to get up for, but it's really important to be on time because it shows that you're prepared and grateful to be there," Sunday said.
Sunday credits education for keeping her grounded amid a busy career.
"Honestly, being in school is actually really helpful for all of that," she said.
"The privilege of having these experiences and meeting so many new people is so amazing, but as a teenager, it's so easy to get sucked into all of it so fast.
"So being able to come back [to Nashville] and keep that perspective of being back at high school keeps me grounded."
