Thank you to our community
I WISH to take this opportunity to thank the community of Rochester for purchasing raffle tickets, badges and tokens over the week preceding Anzac Day. The winner of the raffle was J Vick from Kyabram. Proceeds from the sales go towards support of veterans following their return from many conflicts.
Members of the Sub-Branch also played a major part in preparations for the day and also on the day and I wish to express our appreciation to them.
The support of community service organisations is essential for an event like Anzac Day, commencing with the Dawn Service at Rochester cemetery where the Cemetery Trust, Lions Club and SES combined to make the service and the Gunfire Breakfast the success it was. The march was protected by the Police and Fire Brigade and again the SES helped at the memorial rooms and park, as did Rotary.
Further, I wish to thank the various organisations and local schools for displaying and selling the badges in their premises.
Once again thank you to all have contributed to the success of the Anzac Day commemoration.
