It was a hard day for Finley’s A-graders this week.
Weather conditions were not great, and they were faced with a well-polished Nathalia side.
The whole team tried hard, but just couldn’t get the ball into the goalers to score.
It was great to see Ash Zera step up from B-grade for her debut, and she did not disappoint.

B-grade: Finley 42 def by Nathalia 47.
Tough conditions against Nathalia in the wet, however Finley were able to adapt quickly and start strong.
They were leading at the end of the first quarter, however Nathalia didn’t back down and it was a hard-fought game.
C-grade: Finley 44 def by Nathalia 46.
It was the team’s best start of the season, with a great whole team effort.
The weather wasn’t on our side, with a slippery ball and keeping it in our hands becoming more difficult as the game went on.
Nathalia made the Cats pay, converting shots from the mistakes.
C-reserve: Finley 20 def by Nathalia 60.
The young Finley side showed promise, putting their training into practice.
Passages of play were good, and some changes made and players adapted well to positions they don’t normally play, but Nathalia were too strong.
Under-17s: Finley 50 def Nathalia 39.
It was a steady start as the team worked hard to stay in the contest and build momentum.
After a few strategic changes at half-time, the Cats found their rhythm and extended the lead, finishing the game with confidence and control.
A big thank you again to the u15s for stepping up and continuing to strengthen the squad.
The team is gelling well and with finals approaching, they’re building at just the right time.

Under-15s: Finley 13 def by Nathalia 49.
A tough, wet game in which Nathalia played to their strengths and put the Cats under pressure from the first centre.
Defenders worked hard and kept fighting for the ball, but Nathalia's consistency outshone the Cats on an already cloudy day.
Lots of different combinations were tried, which players adapted to well, but lacked the confidence to lessen the margin.

Under-13s: Finley 30 def Nathalia 18.
It was a competitive game and in which the Cats worked hard as a team and although there were a few players missing, two girls from the under-11s stepped up to fill the gaps and did a fantastic job.
Awards: Ivy Murray, Bailey Kennedy, Ruby Delmenico.
Under-11s: No score.
A brilliant effort by the young Cats as they progress into the end of the season.
Skilful plays in the attacking end and dynamic defence showed down the other half of the court.
