Yarrawonga started strongly, taking an 11–7 lead into quarter time before extending to five goals at the main break.
With their season on the line, the girls responded after half-time, increasing their defensive pressure and showing plenty of patience and determination across the court.
A huge third quarter saw the Roo’s outscore Yarrawonga 11–6 to bring scores level heading into the final quarter.
With everything to play for, the Roos continued to build, producing a 12-goal final quarter to complete the comeback and secure a hard-fought 39–36 victory.
It was a fantastic display of resilience from the entire group, with every player embracing their role and continuing to trust one another despite being challenged throughout the game.
Niamh Lavis (GK) and Zoe Prentice (GD) were two of the Roos’ best, pressuring and repelling the Pigeon’s attacks to hold firm in defence.

Jemma Smith (WA/C) worked tirelessly through the midcourt, providing strong drives, composure and connection into attack while continuing to have an impact across 4 quarters.
Zoe Prentice (GD) produced a strong defensive performance, using her pressure and presence outside and inside the circle to disrupt Yarrawonga’s attacking flow and create important opportunities for the Roos.
Jemma Smith worked tirelessly throughout the elimination final to continue driving the Roos forward.
