Travelling to Kyabram Bowling Club, Rochester was put to the sword by the host 0-44 to 16-64.
It was a straight sets loss for Rochy as skips Richard Feuk, Robert Dennis and Leslie Walles couldn’t get on the board against Giuseppe Greco, Maria Greco and Robert Mason
Dennis came the closest to getting a win for his club in rink one, pushing Maria Greco’s side 15-19 while Feuk and Walles were a step behind Giuseppe Greco and Mason 15-24 and 14-22, respectively.
Rochy now sits fifth on the ladder heading into round three and will travel to Rich River Bowls Club to play the eponymous side, which currently sits in sixth, on Tuesday.
Lower grades
Rochy also suffered a loss to Echuca in division two, going down 0-52 to 16-67 at Echuca Bowls Club.
It was a straight sets victory for the host as skips Kaye Barker, Pamela Lewis and Neil Dovaston got the better of Margaret Knight, Heather Curnick and Carol Cakebread.
In division three, Echuca kept the good times rolling with a win over Lockington 14-54 to 0-27.
Echuca’s Maxwell Bennett got over the top of Lockington’s Denise Gilmore 21-11, while Maxwell Clifford took down Phyllis McFarlane 33-16.
Elmore couldn’t match it against Kyabram at Elmore Bowling Club, losing to the visitor 0-25 to 14-46.
In rink one, Kenneth Wills was defeated by Geoffrey Hocking 17-19, while Mark Browne’s side was handily bested by Kyabram’s Darryl Gade 8-27 in rink two.
Meanwhile, Rich River got on the board for the first time this season, taking care of business against Rochester 14-54 to 0-26.
Barry Cox ran over the top of Don Gillies 29-18, while Frank Ross sailed home against Elaine Hall 25-8.
Division four action saw Lockington emerge victorious over Echuca 13-38 to 1-26.
Echuca’s Steve Morgan and Lockington’s Cindy Felmingham tied in rink two 15-15 before Russell Shawcross got the job done for Lockington over Anthony Deenan 23-11.
