The Richard Feuk-skipped rink was again pivotal, winning 32 shots to 12, while Brian Trengove’s team were three-shot winners.
Elizabeth Easther’s rink managed to snare some match points with a three-shot win for Rich River.
Rochester now has two wins from its first two encounters, while Echuca and Moama also kept their unblemished midweek pennant records intact with more convincing victories.
Echuca got all rinks up for the second week running as it hosted Deniliquin in round two.
Kerryn Evans’ rink had the most significant result of the day with a 10-shot triumph, while Roma Opie (23-16) and Ian Page (28-21) also led their sections to victory, earning Echuca a 77-53 win and top spot on the division one ladder.
Hot on their heels is Moama, who, despite losing two of three rinks on the day against Mathoura, walked away with a 15-shot win.
Peter Holzer and Beryl Murray were in winning touch for Mathoura to reel in victories for the hosts, but it was the Steamers rink of Rob Wastell, Stuart Whyte, Denise Pappin and Colleen Maslen who proved the difference, notching a 35-13 victory.
Division two
Moama went two and zero to start the season with another big win.
The Steamers ploughed their way to a 33-shot victory over Kyvalley View via Sandra Connolly (36-11) and Shirley Sampson (23-12), while the Bev Lyon-skipped Ky rink pulled back a gallant three-shot win.
Deniliquin RSL also continued its unbeaten start to the season with a 57-45 victory over Rich River.
Rich River’s Allan Linquist and Deni’s Jenny Tonta couldn’t be split at 14-all, but Craig Taylor (18-16) and Tony Tonta (25-15) broke the deadlock to continue their fine start to the year.
After a bye in round one, Rochester finally got its season under way in division two with a thrilling win over Echuca.
The rinks of Elaine Hall and Lyn Moon picked up wins, while Echuca earned points through Bernadette Johns.
Division three
Three teams managed to keep their winning start to the season alive.
Lockington notched an eight-shot victory over Echuca to go 2-0, while Deniliquin RSL finished round two on top of the ladder after accounting for Elmore 55-32.
Moama Green rounds out the trio after a 23-shot win over Mathoura.
Clubmates Moama Black made it a winning double for the Steamers on Tuesday with a 38-32 win over Rochester, while both Tongala teams made it a clean sweep for the Bulls.
