Under-15 girls
It was a great effort from the Rochy girls on Sunday, who were always going to have a tough game against Mounts.
The last time they met, Mounts took home the chocolates, beating the Tigers by 25 points, but the Rochy girls were not going to let that happen a second time.
Mounts got the lead early, but that and the rain seemed to spur Rochy on, and it had great teamwork through the field.
The girls worked well, consistently shepherding each other and talking to help each other out.
Rochy had almost all the play for three and a half quarters - a great effort from everyone to take the win.

With a heavy ground from the rain, Rochester were at home to Golden Square.
With tenacity at the ball from the first bounce, both teams were hard at the ball in the slippery conditions.
Rochester came out on top for the quarter with goals to Zach Froon, Asher Rasmussen, Judd Cuttriss and Harrison Wilkins.
With the rain falling again and a slippery ball, both teams were finding it hard to take clean possession.
Golden Square were on top for the whole of the second quarter and were able to score three goals in a row.
Walt James executed a beautiful tackle in the middle of the ground to send the ball into the Rochester forward line, and lift the momentum of the Rochester players.
Mac Dickinson scored the only goal for Rochester for the quarter, and Golden Square was making a comeback, getting within eight points.
Golden Square came out strong in the first part of the third quarter to score the first goal, before Rochester started to get on top in the forward line.
Asher Rasmussen had the perfect unselfish pass to Zac Howard to score.
Rochester players lifted their momentum in the second part of the quarter to extend the lead again with two goals to Harrison Wilkins and singles to Hugh Acocks, Luke Drust, Mac Dickinson, Zac Howard and Taylor Murray.

Under-16 boys
An undermanned Rochester side took on bottom of the ladder South Bendigo on Sunday, in wet and muddy conditions at home on the Windridge.
Mitch Munro kicked the first goal of the game within 30 seconds of the first bounce, and for a moment, things looked grim for South.
However, South very quickly returned serve, getting itself on the board with a couple of goals as well.
Rochy’s accuracy let it down, and it went to the break with a score of only 22 from 7 scoring shots, leading South by just 9 points.
Jake Munro’s signature defensive pressure held South goalless in the second quarter, but unfortunately, Rochy were also unable to kick a major.
Again, accuracy was the issue, with the team slotting through four points only.
Asher Lehmann was applying great pressure at the contest, in his best game for the season, and Oscar Danswan was marking strongly across the backline.
At the half-time break, there hadn’t been much movement on the scoreboard, and the Tigers held the lead by 12 points.
Things got a little move on in the third.
Jackson Goldstraw displayed keen attack on the ball, and Tom’s Drust’s endeavour at the competition was noted.
However, the theme for the day was inaccuracy, with Rochy again kicking more points than goals.
South gained some momentum but, lucky for the Tigers, they were unable to put too many scoring shots forward.
At three-quarter time the lead had stretched, and Rochy were up by 21 points.
With the reminder that for the top age players, this would be their last game of junior footy on their home ground, the Tigers came out of the break with renewed motivation to make sure of a win.
Tom Reynolds changed the tone in the ruck, giving Rochy the advantage at the centre breaks.
Mitch Munro continued to give great run with the ball, and Cale James was dangerous across the ground.
Charles Watson was a reliable lead for the ball, and once again Heath Kyne’s encouraging voice helped lift the team to a comfortable victory.
