Thanks are being offered to both Ken Burns and Brian Kinnane for their contribution to the running of our club.
Both bowlers have applied for a transfer to the Lockington Bowls Club, which has been granted.
Brian has made a significant contribution during his two seasons with our club.
His departure means that there is now a vacancy on the midweek selection committee.
If you feel that you have the ability to assist the existing committee members and fill the vacancy left by Brian’s departure, please contact one of them – Heather Curnick, Kathy Williams or Francis Keech.
Several bowlers have offered to assist with the tournament and match committees, where Brian also served.
We are grateful for these members for stepping up to assist.

A mixture of results from the respective Pennant Divisions this week; wins, losses and ties.

Division Three defeated Echuca 44/37, sharing the rinks (Phylis MacFarlane lost to M Bennett 18/22; Denise Gilmore d. M Clifford 26/15).
Division Four blanketed an undermanned Tongala combination to score an 80/10 win (Russell Shawcross d. G Tinning 31/4; Steve Peter d. R Hosking 49/6).
On Tuesday evening, the popular barefoot bowls attracted a quality field of six rinks in a game of 2-bowl triples.
The winning trio was the Ashley Dobell skipped team comprising Natalie McLaughlun and Jason King, scoring two wins +12 shots ahead of Colin McKee, Shane Felmingham, and Pos Andrea (s) two wins +4 shots.

Division Four also played at Rich River and had a thrilling 60/all tie (Cindy Felmingham d. G Clarence 25/16; Shane Felmingham d. L Sharp 20/17; Denise Gilmore l.t. F Ross 15/27).

The club championships are progressing well with the women having reached the semi-final stage.
Kathi Maddison defeated Margaret Dowie in a close encounter, Sue Harris outbowled a persistent Mary Thomas and will play Maddison in the semi-final.
The other semi-final will be fought out between last year's finalists Leanne McInnes and Kim Ray.
In the men's section, John Andrea defeated Graham Turner while Andy Harris outlasted Shane Felmingham to win 25/22 and progress to the next round.
Ray Hanson had too much experience for his opponent Rod Fiedler and won 25/6.

The pair shared an incredible 32 singles over the journey.
The club will host the next round of the Sixty and Over competition on Wednesday.

Rochester Golf Club
Elmore regular Wednesday morning 9-hole visitor Tom Carboon drew Peter Anderson after the round to win on a countback from the unlucky pairing of Brendan McCarty and Les Hedington, both teams on 40 Stableford points.
All the following teams were on 39 points: Richard Feuk and Kevin McCormack, Allan Campbell and Mike Austin, and David Gebbie and Bruce Bryant.
Hedington was nearest on the shortened third hole.
16 pairs, including a good mixture of new and younger golfers, competed in a 2-person Ambrose over the composite short course, comprising 4 holes on the front 9 and 5 on the back 9, last Friday evening.
Murray Schier and partner Rob Else won with an impressive 34 net 29.13.
The next best were the teams of Troy McInness and Grant Robinson (29.25), Leigh Hicks and President Hicks (30.63), and Andy Purdy and young Will Coghill (30.88).
Louise Williams was closest to the line down the 10th fairway, while young Harry Rasmussen hit a nice shot to be closest to the 16th hole.
President Hicks, together with the Friday evening organising committee, was thrilled with the support from players and sponsors, and with over 100 players competing during November, the club is eager to continue into the new year.
The course will remain open over the Summer months, with regular watering and course maintenance.
However, front and back nine holes could be closed alternately during late December, January and February.
On Wednesday morning, our 9-hole events will continue with a short break over the Christmas period.
