On Sunday, December 7, the Owen and Bradley Shield for the under-13s and under-15s were hosted at Deniliquin’s Memorial Park.
The matches saw talented junior cricketers play for NSW and Victoria sides.
Several Deniliquin and district players were selected for the matches, which was a selection game for the Three Rivers Cup played in Hay on January 18, 2026 against a Murrumbidgee side.
In the under-15s, players included Jaxon Rothe, George Marshall, Henry Campion, Archie Beehag and Darcy Finn.
Under-13s players from the district included Oscar Bull, Joe Holden and Henry Pisasale, with Pisasale selected for the Three Rivers Cup.
Last Sunday, MVCA representative teams from each age group of under-12s to under-15s played Wangaratta representative teams in the Wangaratta Challenge.
The under-12s and under-13s sides played at Yarrawonga, while the under-14s and under-15s played at Barooga.
The under-12s featured Deniliquin Rhinos Charlie Eastman and George Pisasale.
Deniliquin players Henry Pisasale and Ned Wettenhall were a part of the under-13s, Daniel Burn was a member of the under-14s side and George Marshall was named in the under-15s side.
The under-13s MVCA side had a win, scoring 7/167 off their 40 overs, and had Wangaratta all out for 106 off 30.2 overs.
