The Bombers went down by 73 goals at Mansfield Recreation Reserve in their 16th loss of 2026, but were able to celebrate utility Grace Kilpatrick reaching her 100th game for the club.
Just 18 years old, Kilpatrick operated in three different positions against the Eagles; goal defence, goalkeeper, and wing defence.
She also marked the occasion by being Ky’s best-on in the loss, as announced via the club’s Facebook page.
Emma Quinn’s side were totally outmatched against the finals' contender Mansfield, immediately on the back foot at the first interval by being down 24-4.
Ky showed some attacking improvement in the second period with six goals, but conceded another 20 to trail 44-10 at half-time.
Mansfield would score one more goal in the second half than it managed in the first, adding another 45 to its total by full-time to run out as a dominant 89-16 winner.
Kyabram has two more opportunities to register a maiden win in 2026, facing Shepparton Bears at home in round 17 before finishing with a trip to Euroa.
The Bears’ clash will take place amid two notable celebrations at the club, which is having its ladies day and a premiership reunion for the Bombers’ 1981 A-grade side.
