A couple of football rising stars from the Goulburn Valley region will be strutting their stuff in front of AFL recruiters and scouts this weekend.
For the second consecutive week, AFL mid-season draft prospects will take on the next crop of stars with the Young Guns set to battle against the Victoria Country under-18s outfit.
Shepparton United talent Zavier Maher will represent the Young Guns in Sunday’s clash at IKON Park.
Maher, a regular at VFL level for Carlton, will get the chance to impress recruiters ahead of the mid-season draft on June 1.
The inside midfielder has averaged 17.8 disposals and 3.3 tackles per game from six matches for the Blues.
Maher will be up against Shepparton Swans’ Max Clohesy and Tongala’s Harley Reid.
The two excitement machines will fly the flag for Vic Country, with a bid to feature in the state squad at this year’s national championships.
The clash will take place on Sunday, May 15, at IKON Park from 1.30pm.
