But the women are still 11 adrift of league leader Mooroopna, which has a perfect 8-0 record.

Echuca-Moama moved up to fifth on the ladder as a result, above Goulburn Valley Grammar School, and is now only four points adrift of the fourth-placed Strikers Blue side.
The men have also only lost one of their past five matches, and will look to continue to improve against Shepparton Strikers Red in round 10.
The juniors didn’t fare as well as the seniors in round nine, with the under-16s going down 10-0 to Shepparton Strikers, while the under-13s lost 4-2 to Mooroopna.
Meanwhile, the Castlemaine outfit made up of Echuca-Moama players in Hockey Central Victoria picked up a significant result, earning its first point of the season in a 2-2 draw with Bendigo Senjuns.
Castlemaine plays Sandhurst next, still bottom of the ladder but now only five points off second-bottom Eaglehawk and with a game in hand.
