It wasn’t to be for Lockington-Bamawm United in the B-reserve grand final on Heathcote District League grand final day, as White Hills rollicked to the flag in the second half.

Both sides went into the finals series with 14-2 records, but it was the Cats who earned the minor premiership with the superior percentage, and who qualified straight into the grand final with a dominant 56-39 win over Huntly.

The Cats kept things tight in the first two quarters on Saturday, not allowing the Demons to get away despite trailing several times.
White Hills is the B-reserve premier.
There was only one goal between the teams at the first break, as White Hills led 11-10, and the second quarter brought more of the same, the game still anyone’s to win at 19-16.
However, the half-time break would bring about a change in fortunes, as White Hills emerged with renewed determination in the third.
The Demons carved the game open with a 9-1 run, and after leading by 10 at the final change, continued to pull further away in the last to win 40-26.
