Lockington-Bamawm United is off the bottom of the ladder and back on the winners’ list.

The clash at Elmore Recreation Reserve was an arm wrestle from the opening siren and neither side would give ground in the opening quarter.
Elmore led it 14-13, but the Cats were able to secure some crucial goals in the second to take a three-goal lead into half-time.
Another tight period after half-time saw LBU hold off another Bloods surge and the gap was four heading into the final 15 minutes.

Elmore threw everything at the Cats in a crucial final term, but LBU held on to the advantage to win 57-51.
The four points not only get the Cats (2-6) out of last, but put them all the way up to sixth at the halfway point of the season, just a win-and-a-half out of the finals places.
LBU will be looking to string together consecutive successes for the first time this year when it visits North Bendigo (4-4) next Saturday.

Mount Pleasant vs Heathcote
A game Heathcote had no answer for the league heavyweight at Toolleen Recreation Reserve, the Mounts doubling the Saints’ score.
Mount Pleasant prevailed 68-32 in a comprehensive performance to improve to 7-1 at the halfway mark of the season.
A repeat grand final is the likely conclusion to the year at this stage — reigning premier Colbinabbin, undefeated at 8-0, is the only side to have taken down the Mounts this season.

White Hills vs Leitchville Gunbower
The Bombers faced a tough away test against finals fancy White Hills.
At White Hills Recreation Reserve, the Demons demonstrated the quality that has put them into the top three, bursting away to a 69-37 win.
Leitchville-Gunbower slips to the bottom of the ladder after a fifth straight loss, with only one win and a draw to its name through the first eight games.

North Bendigo vs Huntly
The tightest game of the round was between North Bendigo and Huntly, two sides mired in midtable.
The Bulldogs came away with the win 44-42 to lock in fourth spot at the season’s midpoint.
Colbinabbin sat comfortably with this week’s bye, the last of the cycle, having already defeated each of its eight rivals.
