Lockington-Bamawm United brought home the 15-and-under netball premiership, proving too good for White Hills on Heathcote District League grand final day on Saturday.

The game was tight throughout the first half, but the Cats found another gear after the break surging clear by nine goals at three-quarter time.
Lockington was firing at both ends of the court, disrupting White Hills’ possession around both goal circles, while captain and best on court Sadie Laffy and fellow goaler Keeley Major capitalised on chance after chance around the ring, either scoring on the first time of asking, or consistently regathering misses for additional opportunities.

White Hills did manage to steady after falling behind 35-26 at the last break, but still lacked the consistency in possession to make a comeback.
The Cats weren’t as clinical down the stretch, but had done more than enough to secure the flag 47-35.

“A few nerves in the beginning, but they were just amazing,” Cats coach Bec Dodd said.
“Our attacking end just really gelled, so much pressure on in defence.
“We made really good changes when it counted, and then just pulled away in the end.
“Hats off to White Hills as well, really tough competition to beat, but our girls were just consistent throughout.”

Captain Laffy’s contributions both in leadership and the attacking end were recognised with the best on court medal, an honour Dodd said was well-earned.
“She is just inspirational, she leads that team on the court and when we come off at quarter breaks, she's always getting around them,” she said.
“Her goaling today was just amazing, her rebounding and the way she works around the ring as well.
“It's not a one-man show with her, she, utilises everyone and just creates the best opportunities in that ring with her movement.”
