The Campaspe Playing Area will return to the greens for 2025-26 in weekend and midweek pennant action in the next week.
Moama will be out to defend its crown in the weekend pennant after a come-from-behind win over Stanhope 57-54 in last season’s decider.
The Steamers swept through all three other finals sides after finishing third in the regular season, and the title defence should be an intriguing one, with strong contenders such as Stanhope, Tongala and Echuca all looking to build on good seasons.
Echuca had the running of the midweek pennant, winning three of the four divisions, including division one, 56-48 over Mathoura.
The top-grade side lost only one match during the season and it will be up to the chasing pack to step up and prevent back-to-back titles.
The playing area is also set to be shaken up this year by the addition of Kyabram Bowling Club.
Ky will slot straight into division one, joining Rochester, Echuca, Moama, Rich River, Tongala, Mathoura, Deniliquin and Stanhope as top-grade clubs.
It means a bye in the nine-team competition and Rochester will be the first side to experience the week off.
The side was very much in the finals hunt in 2024-25 but finished sixth with a 5-7 record.
Rochy will have its first chance to improve on that record on October 11, when it travels to Deniliquin Bowling Club for its first match of the season.
In the midweek pennant, Kyabram has also joined the fray, making eight in the competition, with Tongala the missing side from those in the weekend ranks.
Elmore will be seeking success in the lower divisions.

Rochester will start its season at home, hosting Stanhope at Rochester Bowls Club on Tuesday, October 7.
Rochy held up the ladder last season, finishing with three wins, eight losses and a draw, and will hope to put together a stronger campaign this time around.
Along with Rochester’s hopes in the lower divisions, Lockington and Elmore will also represent the region.
The weekend pennant gets under way on Saturday, October 4, and will conclude with grand final day on March 7.
The midweek competition begins on Tuesday, October 7, and wraps up on March 10.
