Elmore staged the lone upset of round 12 in Heathcote District Netball League, giving its top-four hopes a boost.
The fifth-placed Bloods started behind against the team above them on the table, as Huntly led by three at quarter-time at Elmore Recreation Reserve.
The Hawks’ lead narrowed to one by half-time, Elmore working the ball well through midcourt to have the better of the period, but Huntly would fire again after the main break.
The visitor attempted to pull away, restoring its three-goal advantage at the end of the third, but the Bloods had one last push in the for the final term.
Elmore’s defence stood tall, keeping Huntly to six goals in the last quarter and earning the Bloods a useful win, 44-39.
Elmore has now closed to within two competition points of Huntly in fourth spot.
Lockington-Bamawm United v Colbinabbin
The undefeated Grasshoppers laid waste to the still-winless Cats in round 12.
Colbinabbin proved that it should be considered the flag favourite in 2025, goaling no less than 18 times in each quarter against the current wooden-spooners.
Meanwhile, LBU found some decent stretches of play after a slow start, hitting double digits in goals in each quarter after the first.
However, it did little to catch the blistering Grasshoppers, who cruised to a 44-goal victory, 81-37.
Leitchville-Gunbower v Mt Pleasant
Mt Pleasant was in devastating form at Gunbower Recreation Reserve, falling by 29 goals.
The Mighty Mounts led at every turn in the match, with their lead only growing as the game wore on.
It was still a game at half-time with scores sitting at 14-32 in favour of the visitor, but things began to quickly unravel after that.
The deficit grew to 20 at the three-quarter breaks with the Bombers minimising the damage with a strong 12-goal last ditch effort.
The final score was 67-38 in the Mighty Mounts favour.
North Bendigo v White Hills
North Bendigo made a game of it against second-placed White Hills, but was ultimately downed by the Demons on its home court.
White Hills would record a modest 41-33 win at North Bendigo Oval, keeping its strong mid season run intact.
