Hann and Keating are two of 252 boys and girls selected to attend the Gold Nugget Camp at Bendigo on November 13 and 14.
Both players will be out to impress at the camp, with possible selection in the 2022 Country Metro Challenge also up for grabs.
This replaces the teams typically selected for the Australian Country Junior Basketball Cup (ACJBC) and Southern Cross Challenge (SCC) which have been cancelled this year.
Hann and Keating said they were excited by the opportunity to attend the camp, after dedicating months to training at the crack of dawn in Echuca to earn selection.
Keating said he was expecting the camp to be of a high intensity.
“Just the work level, and everyone trying to stand out and do their best,” he said.
Hann said he would look to bring a lot of voice on court with the hope of impressing.
“I know some coaches look for that,” he said.
Rochester coach Luke Carnegie, who ran the north-west skill development hub where players gained selection for the camp, said both boys impressed throughout the program.
“Kids from the area come and do their 20 weeks, with two camps in that time, and that is where we are making those selections to the next stage which is Gold Nugget Camp,” he said.
“Both Will and Harrison made a lot of progress in those 20 weeks, especially in more of a leadership role.
“They excelled, and kept improving week-in and week-out.”
Basketball Victoria High Performance and Pathway General Manager Grant Wallace said he was excited to get junior basketball players back on court as part of the camp.
“These camps form the foundation of future success at the Victorian and Australian level with plenty of Australian representatives such as Matthew Dellavedova and Tessa Lavey attending the camp to start their elite basketball careers,” Wallace said.
“We’re excited to get our Country stars back on court with the Gold Nugget Camp and help them reach for their biggest basketball ambitions.”
Dates for this year’s camp are subject to restrictions easing by November 8.
