A Grade produced one of their most complete performances of the season, defeating Greta 34-25. After going down by seven goals in the previous encounter, the girls responded brilliantly and played their first genuine four-quarter game of the year.
The defensive pressure was relentless, while patience and composure through the midcourt allowed the team to steadily build momentum. Finishing strongly in the final term proved the difference as Goorambat ran away with the game.
Olivia Dalton was outstanding across the court, Eliza Cole once again provided strength and consistency in defence, and Charli Button’s drive through the midcourt helped set up countless scoring opportunities.

Best: Olivia Dalton - Riverbank Cash Award, Eliza Cole - Royal Hotel Voucher, Charli Button - Terry White Voucher
B grade
The weather gods were in our favour Saturday, holding out on the predicted rain.
Unfortunately, we had a few players away this week, which didn’t help us coming back up against a polished Greta B grade. Their defenders worked hard in the ring against bats goalies, with Amelia Gall making her goal attack debut to try and bring something different to our attacking game.
Lacey Carter and Kelsey Moss worked tirelessly in defence, creating lots of turnovers and opportunities. Tiffany Osborne ran her heart out all game, along with Mya Bye, bringing the ball down the court through a tough Greta midcourt.
The game didn’t go our way this week, but we’re excited to have our full team back next week and take on the run into finals head on.
Score: Goorambat 27 defeated by Greta 41
Best: Lacey Carter - G & S Gall cash award, Tiffany Osborne - Royal Hotel award, Kelsey Moss - Club drink voucher

Despite showing patches of determination throughout the game, Goorambat found it difficult to settle into its usual flow, allowing Greta to take control and steadily build their lead.
Best on court honours went to Ally Ballard, whose consistent effort and determination stood out throughout the match.

Under 17s
The under-17s continued to show just how much they have improved throughout the season, going down 22-49 against Greta.
While the scoreboard showed a 27-goal loss, the girls should be incredibly proud of their efforts after reducing the margin significantly from the last meeting, where Greta came away with a 69-20 win.
The team competed strongly across all four quarters, showing greater composure with the ball and improved defensive pressure. Pippa Martin led the way with a standout performance, while Chelsey Roberts’ work rate through the midcourt and Yolly Bourke’s efforts in attack were instrumental in keeping the team competitive.

Under 15s
Goorambat’s under-15s returned to the court after a two-week break and came out firing, leading by three goals at quarter time against Greta. The Bats showed great intensity early and worked hard to maintain their strong start throughout the game.
In goal keeper, Evie Ellis had a strong game, winning the ball through rebounds and intercepts and helping transition it down the court. Estelle Doig was outstanding, reading the play well and finding space to create opportunities for her team.
Despite the strong start, Greta gained momentum in the later stages, with the Bats eventually going down 10-24. Overall it was a strong performance from the whole team, and the girls will continue to work towards maintaining their intensity across all four quarters.

Football
Seniors
On Saturday we welcomed Greta to the Bat Cave and after a fortnight off with byes, we hoped to be somewhere near full strength, but this was not the case with McCoy, Wilson, Dalton and O’Kane absent from the game.
Greta got off to a fast start with the wind in the first quarter with multiple scoring shots and whilst the Bats had their chances, things weren’t quite going to plan for the boys, taking some time to get there first major for the day.
In the second quarter the Bats were able to slow the scoring and the difference in scores were reachable, if only they could start to impact on the scoreboard.
Curtis Anker was at his best down back and was a clear standout for the Bats. Victor Butler again to no surprise was fantastic, showing his excellence with ball in hand and his hard fast attack at the footy. Alex Moloney was vital in defence backing himself and taking plenty of intercept marks and young gun Hunter Carter was also great on the day doing his role for the team.
Despite all the boys’ hard fought efforts, Greta was too good on the day, coming away winners.
