At Swan Hill last week, Godden produced two recent stable additions for wins — Viking Cruz and Have No Choice.
Both were driven by Josh Duggan.
For Shadow Play five-year-old Viking Cruz it was his maiden win — at his 40th start.
Viking Cruz, who was having his sixth start for Godden, sat on the pace and got up the sprint lane to post his maiden win.
He didn’t break the clock, but he did win which several previous trainers were unable to do with the pacer, one of three winners out of the winning Artiscape mare, Scentiment.
Godden had instant success with Have No Choice who was stepping out for the first time for him after being prepared for a win and seven minor placings in 18 starts by Monique Burnett.
Have No Choice, a four-year-old gelding by Four Starzzz Shark, came from third last over the final 800m to comfortably account for the favourite Cobalt Blues.
Punters who doubled up on the Godden runners had a good result with Viking Cruz paying $8.60 and Have No Choice $7.30.
Rochester and district trainers had a good night at the meeting with Mark Thompson securing another win with Ajay Breezy Rose.
The four-year-old McArdle mare who is owed by Stanhope’s Graham and Fleur Nurse racked up career win number six — all this season.
