Round 10, 2013 at Moon Oval
Mooroopna 16.8 (104) d Rochester 14.11 (95)
At the halfway mark of the Goulburn Valley League season, Rochester and Mooroopna sat in fifth and sixth positions respectively with the Tigers holding a one-game advantage.
But the Cats were able to claw it back following a fast start away from home, kicking five goals to two in the opening quarter.
For the visitors, Richard Osborne (who was playing his 100th senior game for the club), Mitchell Keddell and Daniel Lewis were more than a handful for their opposition defenders as they combined for 10 goals.
While at the other end, Grant Weeks and Luke Gestier did their best with nine goals between them.
“From the start of the game to the finish it was pretty intense and I suppose that was always in the back of my mind, wanting to win my 100th and stuff, but I’m rapt,’’ Osborne said.
Heathcote v Elmore
Round 18, 2018 at Pigeon Park, Heathcote
Elmore 17.5 (107) def. Heathcote 12.8 (80)
Some would say there was plenty of pressure on Elmore heading into the final game of the Heathcote District Football Netball League season against Heathcote, others would say there was none.
After all, the Bloods had not won a game all season.
But they ensured they would not leave the season empty-handed, producing their best display of the season to beat the Saints - who finished in eighth position - by 27 points.
The visitors were able to dramatically swing the contest in their favour in the third term as they booted six goals to two, to hold a 35-point lead at the final change.
Despite the best efforts of the Saints in the final term, Elmore was able to hang on.
Angus Munro was named the best player on the ground, while Danny Brewster kicked five.
Lockington-Bamawm United v Huntly
Round 3, 2013 at Specialist Breeders Oval, Huntly
Huntly 16.8 (104) def. LBU 13.15 (93)
On route to its third straight Heathcote District Football Netball League premiership, LBU lost just one game during the 2013 season and that came against the Hawks.
In a highly anticipated clash, the two sides raced out of the blocks as they kicked five goals apiece in the opening quarter.
But in the second and third terms, it was all Huntly as the Hawks booted 10 goals to three and looked set for a comfortable victory.
LBU threatened in the final term, but inaccurate goalkicking of 4.6 ruined its chances of a comeback win.
Lachie Collins performed strongly with five goals, while Marcus Angrove booted three.
