Police deployed spike strips while pursuing a pair of stolen vehicles near Shepparton, resulting in deflation of one of the vehicle’s tyres.
The pursuit took place on the Midland Hwy at about 1.30pm on Monday, December 8.
Shepparton police said the two vehicles had been travelling together during the chase, with the occupants of one transferring into the other after the spikes deflated the first vehicle’s tyres.
The pursuit continued until police lost sight of the speeding vehicle.
The police air wing later arrived from Melbourne to assist with the search for the vehicle and its occupants.
No-one had been arrested over the incident as of 3.30pm on Tuesday, December 9.
