The service will take place at the Tocumwal RSL, with refreshments and afternoon tea to follow.
This annual event provides an opportunity for the community to come together and say ‘thank you’ to those who served during Australia’s involvement in the Vietnam War.
It is a time to pause and reflect on the bravery, teamwork and endurance displayed by Australian servicemen and women throughout the conflict.
During the service, the Tocumwal RSL will honour all those who lost their lives during battle. The event will also acknowledge those who returned home wounded, ill or injured.
Tribute will be paid to the veterans who lost their lives in the years since returning, as well as those who still carry the physical and emotional scars of their service.
There will also be a moment to reflect on the impact of war service on veterans’ families, recognising the challenges and sacrifices they have faced.
The Vietnam War saw nearly 60,000 Australians serve over a 10-year period.
Tocumwal RSL invites all members of the community to attend this important day of remembrance, respect and gratitude.
