As part of ongoing investigations, about 6.20am on Monday, strike force detectives executed a search warrant in Tocumwal.
At the address, police said they located and seized a mobile phone and laptop allegedly containing more than 125,000 files of child abuse material.
A 56 year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Finley Police Station, where he was charged with use carriage etc to access child abuse material and possess etc child abuse data-use carriage service.
The man was initially refused bail and was scheduled to appear in Bail Division Local Court 5 on Tuesday.
He then appeared via video link in the Court from Albury Police Station, where he was granted bail.
The man was granted bail under strict conditions, including reporting daily to Tocumwal Police Station, not using or possessing more than one mobile phone, not accessing the internet, and not being in the company of a child under 16 unless supervised.
The matter will return to Albury Local Court on Tuesday, April 7.
The arrest was a part of Strike Force Glandore which was established in 2023 by State Crime Command’s Sex Crimes Squad Child Internet Exploitation Unit (CIEU) to investigate the online distribution, supply and access of child abuse material.
