■ ‘Devastating decision’ – Local accommodation providers experienced a near 100 per cent loss of business after the Victorian Government decided to close its border with NSW at 4pm on New Year’s Eve. Anyone returning to Victoria from NSW after 11.59pm the same day would be required to self isolate at home for 14 days, causing a chaotic mass exodus from Deniliquin.
