This initiative aligns with Rotary International’s ongoing stand against domestic violence, a key focus of its community support and awareness work around the world.
As part of this important cause, Finley Rotary will host Dave Kramer, behavioural scientist and keynote speaker of the HALT Program.
It will be held at Finley High School on Tuesday, November 25.
Mr Kramer will deliver a presentation to students focusing on mental health, respect, and taking positive action to prevent domestic and family violence.
Students are encouraged to “wear a splash of purple” on the day to show their support for the cause.
In addition, the Rotary Club of Finley will be approaching local businesses in the Finley central business district to take part by wearing ‘Say No To Domestic Violence’ T-shirts on the day.
T-shirts are available by contacting Rotary president Chris Kelly on 0417 650 508 or Barry Wilson 0427 831 337, and Dr Alam (03) 5883 4916.
“This is a powerful opportunity to raise awareness in our schools and local community,” Mr Kelly said.
“By working together, we can help create a culture of respect and support where domestic violence has no place.
“The Finley Rotary Club encourages everyone to get behind this initiative by showing their support, wearing purple, and standing together to say NO to domestic violence.”
