Yarrawonga Mulwala Visitor Information Centre Executive Officer Noel Wright said this year’s Kids Festival was a roaring success with a great number of children attending events at local businesses.
“The feedback has been fantastic from kids, parents and grandparents for the events fifth anniversary,” Mr Wright said.
From all reports the children enjoyed the talent quest and dance workshops at ClubMulwala and several children attended Rich Glen Provedore and Tame Café to collect their packs top take part in the colouring competitions.
The new movies at the cinema at Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club Resort were also another success with plenty of children and adults wanting to sit back and relax with some new flicks.
“There were plenty more activities enjoyed through the week including; plenty of rides at Tunzafun, draw and tell competitions at Yarrawonga News and Gifts, junior driving range kids golf at Black Bull Golf Course, holiday activities at Byramine Homestead, skillzone sports program at the ECA Centre, cookie and cupcake decorating at Watts Café Bundalong and Sebel Yarrawonga, rock painting and rhyme and story time at the Yarrawonga Library, kids meal deals at a number of venues and tiny tots and pre-teens dancing at Tame Café,” Mr Wright said.
Once again star attraction Leo the Lion made an appearance at several events, taking photos and joining in on activities with the kids.
“‘Leo the Lion’ has regularly popped up at event venues to rapturous support from kids,” Mr Wright said.
“We are committed to improving the event each year but need greater buy in from local businesses.
“As more businesses embrace the event introducing new kid friendly activities, the greater the gravitational pull toward the event will be.
“If all businesses participate it creates the perception of size, and size drags the crowd. “
With an abundance of local businesses and experiences coming onboard to provide their services and great numbers of participants joining in after several years of little to no events due to the pandemic, the future of the Kids Fest is looking bright.
“We’re grateful to the businesses that offered a wonderful variety of activities over the week and believe they will be part of the festival again next year,” Mr Wright said.
“We invite all local businesses and community groups to come to our post event wrap up and think tank in coming weeks.
“We hope this event will continue to grow in the coming years.”
