WMLIG is bringing together top national and local experts in carbon and biodiversity markets, drought resilience, green lending and nature repair to help with a farmer-led co-design of an ESG decision support tool.
“Let’s get on the front foot and be prepared — join us to help co-design a support tool to help farmers like you when this reporting becomes mandatory to your business,” MWLIG said.
“We need a range of farmers from areas in and around our region to come together, listen to our experts and give their opinion.
“We have engaged Christophe Bur — a cattle farmer, pioneering carbon farmer and environmental market expert, with a speciality in facilitating farmer-led solutions to big challenges.”
Mr Bur says farmer-led initiatives are vital in meeting the major challenges on the way, as supply chains are forced to comply with carbon pollution reduction and biodiversity impact legislation that will see more pressure on farmers.
“Being on the front foot is always a better option, with drought and with market demands, both of which we know is coming, so now is a good time to plan for it,” he said.
WMLIG, with the support of the Southern Innovation Hub, will host two co-design events with Mr Bur, on April 11 and May 8, at the WMLIG office, 27 Thule St, Barham, NSW. Both sessions start at 9am and finish at 1.30pm, and include morning tea and lunch.
