Goulburn River at Shepparton
The SES has issued a minor flood warning for the Goulburn River, Seymour to Shepparton, including Mooroopna and Kialla, today, Friday, August 14.

The Goulburn River at Shepparton is currently peaking around 10.05 metres, with minor flooding. It may remain above the minor flood level (9.50m) until Saturday afternoon.
A separate advice for Seven Creeks at Kialla West for minor flooding is also in place.
The Broken River at Orrvale has now fallen below minor flood level.
Impacts in the Shepparton, Mooroopna and Kialla areas:
- The Peter Ross-Edwards Causeway is not expected to close.
- Riverside areas and flats will be flooded for several days, including camps, areas near the Shepparton Lawn tennis courts and Princess Park near the bocce club and behind Aquamoves.
- High river levels and potential flooding of farmland and parks close to the rivers and creeks.
- Watt Rd is closed in both directions between Riverview Dve and McLennan St.
- Riverview Dve is closed in both directions between Botanic Gardens Ave and Watt Rd.
- Raftery Rd is closed in both directions between Edgewater Rd, Kialla and Seven Creeks Dve.
- All vehicle and walking tracks within the Arcadia Streamside Reserve, Shepparton Regional Park and Gemmills Swamp Wildlife Reserve were closed on Monday, and remain closed.
- Floodwater may cover South Quinnan Pde and Hassett St near Lincoln Dve.
- In Shepparton, Stewart Reserve, the fenced dog park, Jaycee Park and the Swans Football Netball club may be impacted by floodwater.
- There is floodwater in Jordan Place, Shepparton, near The Boulevard.
The Broken River has fallen below minor flood level, but farmland and yards around Doyles Rd, parts of Kialla Lakes Dve and Gordon Dve, and many streets in Kialla Lakes may still be covered by floodwater.
Impacts at Toolamba:
- Tracks in the forested areas west of Goulburn River, such as Steves Track, will be flooded.
Road closures
- Other local roads may be closed and low bridges may be underwater.

Seven Creeks at Kialla West
There’s a minor flood warning in place for the Seven Creeks downstream of Euroa to Kialla West.
Minor flooding is easing along the Seven Creeks at Kialla West.
The Seven Creeks at Kialla West is currently at 4.57m and steady, with minor flooding.
It is likely to fall below the minor flood level of 4.5m this afternoon.
Impacts in the area:
- The Archer St floodway, Mitchell Rd between Archer Rd and the Goulburn Valley Hwy, parts of Union Rd, Riverview Dve and Raftery Road are closed due to flooding.
Broken River downstream of Casey Weir
There is a final minor flood warning for the Broken River downstream of Casey Weir, as the threat of flooding is reduced.
River levels are continuing to ease along the Broken River at Orrvale where river levels are below the minor flood level.
No further significant rainfall is forecast for the catchment for the next few days to cause renewed river level rises.

The river is currently at 5.96m and falling and is below the minor flood level of 6.80m.

- Damage to roads and buildings caused by flooding may still exist in your area.
- You may still see floodwater over some local roads and farmland.
Goulburn River downstream of Shepparton
A minor flood warning is also in place for parts of the Goulburn River downstream of Shepparton.
Minor flooding is possible on the Goulburn River at McCoys Bridge, Kotupna, overnight on Saturday, August 15, into Sunday.
The Goulburn River at McCoys Bridge is currently at 7.7m and steady, below the minor flood level.
It may reach around the minor flood level of 9m overnight Saturday into Sunday.
Local advice:
- People living or camping on the Goulburn River between Shepparton and Kanyapella should expect river level rises on Friday and Saturday as floodwater arrives from Shepparton.
- Farmers should consider moving livestock and machinery from along the river to higher ground.
- Be prepared to act if your situation changes.
