The A-graders had a tough game.
With a slow start, they trailed by four goals leading into half-time.
After a few key changes, they gained momentum and controlled the game to win by eight goals.
The defence was under intense pressure, which led to many turnovers.
The shooting end was incredibly accurate, which helped maintain Finley’s lead and end the game on a high.

B-grade: Finley 32 def by Mulwala 45.
It was goal-for-goal in the first three quarters, with great pressure and desire for the ball.
However, fitness and attitude in the last quarter saw Mulwala get a run on, and the Cats were unable to stop them.
Definitely lots of positives to takeaway from the game, with plays from defensive to attacking and mid-courters being able to feed the ball into the shooters who were able to successfully score.

C-grade: Finley 51 def Mulwala 44.
Finley defeated Mulwala for a great start to the season.
The game felt close for the entire match, with pressure remaining from Mulwala.
Finley had a good start but Mulwala was not going to make it easy. The team worked hard and held possession when it really counted.
The patience going into the ring and communication in the defensive ring were the greatest strengths of the match.
Shannon Peasley received the Kelly’s Grain award for her defensive pressure and vocal direction on the court.
Elyse Price received the Finley Country Club award for her movement and confident feeding into the ring.
C-reserve: Finley 45 def Mulwala 42.
After a week off, the girls come out raring to go and ready to put what they’ve been practising at training into match play.
It was an up-and-down game from the first whistle to the last, with the lead changing multiple times and neither team getting in front by enough to run away with the game.
The Cats’ shooters worked well together and shot with confidence.
In her first full game, Ebony McIntosh earned the Eagle I Machinery Best on Court Award for strong play at GS.
The Finley Pilates and Myotherapy award went to Karen Donkin, who is once again proving age is just a number and that she can still dominate in GA.
Under-17s: Finley 50 def Mulwala 33.
The girls came out firing right from the warm-up and didn’t stop until the final whistle; a great team effort across the whole court, whether attacking or defensive.
The girls played as a unit the whole game and came away with an 18-goal win.

Under-15s: Finley 17 def by Mulwala 46.
Although the Cats started strongly, the balance of the game did not go their way.
The girls fought hard and adjusted well to combination changes throughout the game but could not maintain a consistent four quarters.

Under-13s: Finley 8 def by Mulwala 27.
The girls played well as a team, starting to gain momentum and get to know each other’s game.
It wasn’t a day for our shooters not sinking the goals they attempted, and there were some loose balls in the mid-court.
The defence had a tough game and, after a talking to at quarter time, they took advice on board and were very strong. Well done, girls, keep working on your game.

The youngest Cats had an amazing run against Mulwala.
Their teamwork was excellent, and their netball skills continue to improve each week.
They are beginning to gel together as a team and are constantly improving.
