A community-wide push to break down barriers and strengthen inclusion will return to Echuca this December.

Following the success of last year's inaugural event, Intereach has partnered with local businesses, service providers, schools, community groups and residents for Echuca's International Day of People with Disability celebration on Thursday, December 3.
The free event, to be held at Echuca East Recreation Reserve from 10am to 1pm, will embrace this year's theme, Nothing About Us Without Us, and welcome people of all ages and abilities.

Intereach Local Area Coordinator Fiona Brown said last year's event highlighted the powerful impact of a community committed to inclusion.
"We saw people of all ages and abilities enjoying activities side by side, making new connections and learning from one another," Fiona said.
"The atmosphere was welcoming, positive and genuinely reflective of the inclusive community we want Echuca to be."

The event aims to raise awareness, strengthen connections and recognise the valuable contributions people with disability make to the community.
"Inclusion happens when people, organisations and communities work together to remove barriers and create opportunities for everyone to participate," Fiona said.
"The success of last year's event belonged to the entire community and the many organisations that contributed their time, ideas and support.
“We're excited to bring everyone together again and continue building a community where everyone feels they belong."
The event is supported by Intereach, Campaspe Shire Council, Echuca Regional Health, Kyabram District Health Service, Echuca College, Echuca Twin Rivers School, St Joseph's College Echuca, We are VIVID, Community Living & Respite Services, U-Choose Independent Support Services, and With My Tribe.
