How good is this?
Rochester division three defeated Moama by 12 shots in last Saturday’s grand final.
It was reward for consistent bowls throughout the year.
They held top or second spot most of the year.
The game was played on a fast green at Moama, which caused trouble for all rinks, but Rochester’s experienced players led by Tim Quinlan adapted better to hold off the opposition.
The last division three premiership Rochester won was in 2004/05.
Ross Turner was the only player to play in both premierships teams.
Rochester had a great number of supporters at the game and both players and supporters enjoyed snacks, drinks and a lot of fun back at the clubhouse, to round off a great day.
A good team effort.
Tim Quinlan, Gavin Houlihan, Anton Gusak and Kevin Hall led the way with a convincing 28-12 win against S Sutton.
Leigh Milgate, Hedley Moon, Kevin Dobson and Ron Gledhill had a good tight game against B Cuttriss and picked up shots on the crucial last ends to win 29-25.
Ron Stranger, Ross Turner, Graeme Chambers and Kevin Burrow were well down in the first half but fought back to get some very vital shots to help with the win.
They lost to R Gillman 16-24.
Well done to all.
Thank goodness for the roll ups.
They allow you to get rid of wrong bias bowls.
