Australia's biggest secondhand treasure hunt will take place across two weekends — November 7 and 8, and November 14 and 15 — with garage sales, markets and community events held across the country.
For 16 years, the Garage Sale Trail has brought millions of Australians together to declutter, reuse and connect with their communities.
Residents can host a sale from home on one or more days across the two weekends.
Registration is free and includes a listing on the national map, how-to guides, promotional materials and support to help attract shoppers.
A garage or front yard is not required, with unit blocks, schools, community groups and neighbours all encouraged to get involved.
In 2025, the average household sale made $761, while community groups raised more than $1325.
Strathbogie Shire Mayor Scott Jeffery said the event made sustainable choices practical and accessible.
“Buying and selling second hand keeps useful items in circulation for longer, reduces waste and lessens the demand for new resources,” Cr Jeffery said.
“It’s a simple way for every household to make a difference, while saving or earning money and connecting with others in our community.
“We’re excited to take part for the first time and encourage residents across the shire to get involved.”
Residents who would prefer to sell at a local market can book a stall for $10 at the Go Nagambie Market on Saturday, November 7, or the Euroa Farmers’ Market on Saturday, November 21.
Market stalls must be booked directly with the relevant market organiser — the Go Nagambie Market at market@gonagambie.com and the Euroa Farmers’ Market at euroavillagefarmersmarket@gmail.com
The Euroa Farmers' Market falls outside the official Garage Sale Trail dates, extending the opportunity for residents to sell and shop for pre-loved items.
Council will also hold a special Tip Shop Sale in Nagambie from 9am to noon on Saturday, November 7.
The sale will feature pre-loved household furniture, tools, toys, garden equipment, bicycles and more, with most items priced between $1 and $15.
