The grade 3s and 4s joined the children in the Campaspe Cluster and headed to Billabong Ranch for their three-day camp. The children went camel riding, bungee trampolining, pedal boat sailing, played mini golf, visited the animal nursery and the Port of Echuca, and much more. Big thanks to Miss Glenn, who was parentis loci for the children for the three days and two nights.
AFL Footy Colours day was held in Colbo on Tuesday, September 10 to coincide with our Sporting Schools AFL Football Clinic. The children enjoyed the clinic and then a range of activities organised by our two school captains, Jack and Bella.
Children from grades 3, 4, 5 and 6 have been busy during STEM time designing and constructing their model solar boats for the 2019 Model Solar Vehicle Challenge, which is held at Scienceworks in Melbourne later in the year.
We are proud of our strong reading culture at Colbinabbin Primary and are pleased that last week, all those children who could, completed the Victorian Premier's Reading Challenge. We look forward to awarding them their certificate during term four.
Campaspe Cluster Science Day — It’s a big tick to another fantastic Campaspe Cluster Science Day. Colbinabbin Primary’s activity was making kaleidoscopes. Kaleidoscopes make their amazing patterns when light bounces off reflective surfaces placed at angles to each other. The children also made a bouncy ball, learnt how to make a lava lamp, learnt about force and about the planets. Well done to all our children but especially to our staff: Mrs Morgan, Miss Glenn, Miss Andrews and Mr Pettigrew. Science Day is non-stop. In six 25-minute sessions we helped 190 children make a kaleidoscope! A very busy day! That’s pretty amazing! Our staff are all pretty amazing!
