Man admits to murdering woman, trying to head overseas

He admitted he murdered the 53-year-old woman in Little River, between Melbourne and Geelong, on April 1.

The Dandenong woman was reported missing the next day after she did not contact her family as expected.

Her body was found in the vicinity of Little River Road and the Princes Freeway in Little River on April 4.

Keys, who is from Patterson Lakes, in Melbourne's south, was arrested on April 3 as he tried to board a flight at Melbourne International Airport.

He was arrested and taken into custody on a charge of murder.

At his brief court hearing on Monday morning, Keys only spoke to confirm he pleaded guilty to the murder charge.

He will face a directions hearing at the Victorian Supreme Court on September 28.
