The action-packed weekend kicks off on Saturday, 17 January, with a junior event at 9am, perfect for budding athletes. Later that day, adrenaline junkies can tackle the exhilarating sprint triathlon starting at 5:30pm.
Known as Wharf to Winery, the event will see over 200 athletes swim either 1.5km or 3km on Sunday, January 18 at 9.30am, from the Port of Echuca to Morrison’s Winery wharf.
Once participants have completed the swim and arrive at Morrison’s Winery, they will be greeted with live entertainment, a free breakfast and will be able to unwind with like-minded people.
Mark your calendars, as entries open in November for all events. With a substantial cash prize pool up for grabs and record-breaking attendance anticipated, competition promises to be fierce and exciting.
Echuca-Moama Tri Club race director Sarah Mulkearns said the club was excited about the weekend and how the events continued to grow every year.
“We had 300 at our sprint triathlon, 80 juniors at their event, and we had nearly 200 at the Wharf to Winery last year, so the event is building up every year, which is great,” she said.

“There is lots of excitement for our multi-sport weekend, we had a record number of people in the sprint triathlon last year, and we had our biggest numbers for the Wharf to Winery as well, so everyone is really keen to get out into the water in January.”
