Buyers, online and at the ring, were waiting for her and bidding quickly escalated past the $20,000 mark.
Windy Vale ATW Frosty 2 had a list of awards behind her and a pedigree including five generations of dams classified as ‘Excellent’.
Due to calve on December 5, she entered the ring with a dry udder, but the buyers were not looking for milk in the bucket, they were hoping for some more daughters.
In the end, Geoff Peatling from Katunga snapped her up for $25,000.
Auctioneer Brian Leslie reminded the crowd that she came from one of the most famous cow families in the world, and she was an extraordinary example.
Most recently she was named the winner of a national photo competition for an aged cow.
Master breeder Scott Somerville described her as one of the most correct, balanced and functional cows he had ever worked with.
His personal favourite, Lot 33, Murraybrook Diamond Issy, sold to Josh Romano for $15,000.
Scott loves breeding cows and she is one of the animals he will miss from the herd.
But he has decided he needs to scale down a little, and while continuing to run a herd, will be doing it on a smaller scale.
The on-farm sale will leave him with a 110-strong herd.
The sale, run by Dairy Livestock Services, averaged $4130, for more than 100 lots and only a small number did not sell.
A total of 225 people, including bidders, were online.
