FAR’s managing director Nick Poole said Rebecca Murray would work out of the organisation’s Mulwala office.
He said her skills would boost the organisation’s research capabilities in northern Victoria and southern NSW.
Ms Murray completed a Graduate Certificate of Agricultural Science at the University of Queensland in 2019, then went on to work for the Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries.
She gained experience in field trial activities across commercial and on-station trial sites and was responsible for trial assessments and sample collections as well as monitoring crop health and data analysis.
From April 2020, she worked as a development horticulturist and was responsible for organising field trial visitations and sampling programs and stakeholder engagement.
Ms Murray starts work with FAR Australia on Monday, May 9 and will be in FAR Australia’s Mulwala office, which is relocating just down the road to 12/95-103 Melbourne St, Mulwala, as of June 1.
“The team and I are delighted to welcome Rebecca ... and look forward to working closely with (her) in delivering quality field applied research for Australian growers,” Mr Poole said.
“As we continue to build capacity and capability in agricultural research, we also continue to deliver on our purpose of being a national provider of, and investor in, RD&E for the Australian agricultural sector.”
