Council chief executive Declan Moore said the directions required customers to be fully vaccinated, or to show evidence of a medical exemption, at several council-managed services.
People must be double vaccinated (or otherwise medically exempt) to visit Campaspe Shire Council library branches, Echuca War Memorial Aquatic Centre, Port of Echuca Discovery Centre and Echuca Paddlesteamers.
On entry to these facilities, evidence of vaccination status will be requested and attendees will be required to “check in” using the displayed QR code.
There are no patron vaccination status requirements at Campaspe Shire service centres (customer service functions only), resource recovery centres, Echuca and District Livestock Exchange and Campaspe Animal Shelter.
For dual customer service and library service centres in Kyabram, Rochester, Rushworth and Tongala, staff will assist with the level of check-in required, dependent on what services are being accessed.
Mr Moore thanked the community members for their co-operation in advance of the changes coming into play.
“We’d like to thank the community for assisting us to work within state government directions,” he said.
“If you have any queries regarding these new restrictions, please contact council on 1300 666 535. Our staff will be happy to assist you.”
