The Welsh actress opened up about what she's loving in the industry at the moment, as well as what she's not a fan of, during an interview with Awards Buzz.
And top of the list of things she's not a fan of is how much information fans can access about famous faces through social media.
"There was a wonderful thing about not knowing everything about actors - who they were waking up with in the morning, what they were eating, where they were shopping, what they were wearing," she said.
"And as much as social media has been a game changer on so many levels, it's too much information.
"I don't need to know, 'Didn't she just divorce her husband? Didn't she have an affair with somebody?'
"I don't want to know that … It's the mystique of movies and actors on television and people you go and sit for two-and-a-half or three hours in the movie theatre to see. I don't need all the information."
However, there are some things Zeta-Jones is loving in Hollywood at the moment, including the way women are dominating the industry.
"That equals content. That equals actors getting employed and there's people like me - and a certain generation of women of my age - who are getting really interesting stuff, or going out to find it for themselves, and actually having the ability to get it made," she said.
"I'm loving that."
Zeta-Jones takes on the role of art dealer and former cocaine kingpin Jackie Price in new Amazon Prime series Kill Jackie, and admits she loves having the opportunity to take on something different.
"At this point in my career, I just relish that I can do something that's a bit of a 360 turnaround," she said.
"I love Catherine Zeta-Jones roles - but I wanted to just let it all hang out a little bit more."
