On Wednesday, a relatively smaller field competed in brilliant fine weather and smooth running greens.
On rink one, the scoring across green was fairly close with Owen "Smiley" McPhee leading with 42 points to score narrowly from John van den Bosch, 40 points, followed by Andy Harris, 30, and Rod Fiedler, 28 points.
Next door, Neil Haines was in supreme form to tally 52 points and hand out a true lesson to the in-form Pos Andrea, 38, and Ray Hanson, 37 points.
On Saturday, there were four rinks in operation, resulting in outstanding bowling from the majority of members.
Close scoring in most rinks, and the day finishing with players enjoying the party pies and pasties supplied by Pos Andrea. Thanks Pos.
Rink one provided some excellent bowling from Steve Peter, amassing a match-winning 55 points to lead home and win from Rod Fiedler, 51, and Peter Egan, a solid 33 points.
Club champion Leanne McInnes showed some classic bowling to just manage 52 points to keep at bay John Andrea, 50, and Frank Chugg, on 38 points.
The weekly battle between Ray Hanson and Pos Andrea continued when they were drawn to meet again.
Hanson was to the fore to tally a winning score of 47 points, while Andrea managed 40 points ahead of Russell Shawcross, 30 points.
On the final rink, six points covered the field of four.
John Dowie was very accurate in a total of 36 points to win the rink ahead of the other three players, all scoring 30 points each.
Brian Kinnane, Graeme Wood, and Natalie McLaughlin could not be separated.
The president, committee, and members were saddened to learn of the passing of Anne Lowrie during the week.
Anne Lowrie was lady president in the years 2020-21 and 2021-22, and served on all committees, as well being a prominent pennant player. Condolences to the Lowrie family.

Friday, June 5 – Stroke
Jenny Holt was in sparkling form to return the day’s best score of 98-27-71 to romp to a clear-cut victory and win the Lockington Foodworks Supermarket Player of the Day voucher.
Jenny capped off an excellent day by also winning the count the putts with 29, by just one from Sally Edwards (30), with Annette Brereton (32) the next best.
After the three preliminary rounds, the race for the club championship (nett) title is delicately poised, with players’ best two scores counting.
After Jenny Holt’s terrific round, she has moved to a share of the lead with Sue Harris, both on 141, with Annette Brereton just one shot further back.
Similarly, the putting championship leaderboard is close, with Sue Harris (57) just one in front of Annette Brereton (58), while Sally Edwards (61) has moved into contention.
