Hello all, hope the Christmas and new year break went well for you.
It is now time to dust off the buggies and sticks and get back into playing golf again.
Our first game for 2022 will be an 18-hole stroke game on the par three course. Hit-off is at 9am as it seems summer has arrived at last.
Sunday, January 23 is a stroke game, count putts; and the Australia Day competition, a three-person Ambrose, will be held on Sunday, January 30. This will allow golfers who are interested to attend the functions on Australia Day.
All members are asked to bring a plate for this function.
Please note the hit-off time from now on: Assembly 8.30am for a 9am hit-off, unless otherwise advertised.
Sunday, January 16:
Apologies to the players who arrived too late for Sunday’s game. Our notes didn't make it into last week’s paper.
Our starting times now that summer is here is 9am assembly for a 9.30am hit-off, so we can play then relax in the cool of the clubrooms.
Sunday's game was an 18-hole stroke event on the par three course, with our new member Paul Pappin stirring things up by blitzing the field.
His handicap will be coming right down after scoring 77-20-57. He also made nearest-the-pin on the first and the fourth hole, getting very close to holing out both times.
Frank Broucek claimed nearest-the-pin on the third.
Runner-up was Laurie Radley, 75-12-63. He did very well with 27 putts to take the putting honours for the day.
Next week is stroke on the normal course.
Our Australia Day competition is being held on January 30, to allow our members to attend Australia Day events. The game is a three-person Ambrose, so start getting your partners organised.
Members are to please bring a plate.
Also remember that it is now a 9am assembly for a 9.30am hit-off; happy hitting.
