In a letter to the club community, Bright said the town's spirit would play a big role in everyone sticking together.
“As you are aware the 2020 Goulburn Valley season has been postponed until at least the June 6 long weekend due to the risk of the COVID-19 virus,” Bright said.
“The decision was not made lightly to suspend all activities of our club; however, it was necessary to protect not only our players but the wider community.
“As a community we are faced with an unprecedented health, wellbeing, economic and social crisis. Our club is not immune either and we need your support now more than ever if we are to remain successful in this very competitive league.
“It is important that we all remain positive and ensure that we look after each other.
“Hopefully, football and netball will return in 2020 and we need to plan for its return. Our coaches have given all players individual training programs to ensure they are fit on their return.
“The committee is engaged in making sure we keep up with the many financial commitments we still have.
“We also want to let you know that we are mindful of how challenging it is, or might be, for you to uphold your commitment, one that keeps our club strong and in a position to weather this crisis.
“Our community has faced many recent challenges but through our commitment, resilience and culture we have risen above all of these. These same values apply to our club.
“Furthermore, many of our local businesses and other sponsors are also currently experiencing hardship and I ask that as a community we rally behind them just as they have so generously supported us.
“There will be a day some time soon when we can return to our lives as we knew them before the threat of the COVID-19 virus.
“When are footballers are back on the field, our netballers are on the court and Yellow and Black is again the talk of the town.
“Until that day, stay well; look after yourselves and those around you.
“On behalf of the committee and coaches, I thank you for your continued support and look forward to seeing you all at Tigerland soon.”
