Max Hahn steps down as Rochester FNC president

By Brayden May

MAX HAHN may no longer be president of the Rochester Football Netball Club but you shouldn't expect him to go anywhere.

Last week, the club announced Hahn would be stepping down from the role with Jeff Bright named as his replacement for the 2020 season.

And after seven years at the helm, Hahn said the time is right for a fresh voice to take over.

“When I first took over they said I would only be in the role for two years,” Hahn joked.

“It's time for a refresh both personally and the club as a whole. I've really enjoyed my time in the position and look forward to still working on the committee.

“There are a lot of people behind the scenes who do a mountain of work and I was just simply part of a team.

“The club are very fortunate to people who are so committed to making it one of the most successful in the region.”

Season 2019 proved to be a roller coaster ride for the Tigers, but upon reflection Hahn said it was a success.

“I thought we made great progress in both footy and netball this year,” he said.

“Moving forward I think there is a lot for everyone to look forward to. And with some of the changes that have already taken place I think you'll see us improve again next year.”

In other club news, senior footballer Mitch Bright will take the reins of the club's under 18 side next season.

He will be assisted by Anthony McPhee and Tim Rasmussen.
