When Rylea Cuttriss took over the coaching duties in round six, several players threatened to walk away for the rest of the year.
But as they have always done, the Cats come together to push through one of the club's darkest periods, even though the results didn't begin to turn.
"The coaching change was a real low point for us as a club," Cuttriss said.
"A few people were struggling to motivate themselves on a weekly basis. But once the changes were in place everything began to settle down.
"Everyone has continued to get behind each other on and off the court, even when we were losing by big margins.
"But the most important factor was we were still having fun."
On the court, captain Carlie Jones and Lynsey Dobson have continued to show their younger teammates the way forward.
Throughout the season, Dobson has played in almost every position while Jones has fulfilled the role of an on court coach.
"I would be lost without Carlie and Lynsey," Cuttriss said.
"They should hold their heads high because they are excellent role models for the juniors who are coming through the club's ranks."
Young duo Jemma McNair and Stacy Bacon have followed in the footsteps of their experienced teammates having proven they have exciting futures in A grade.
"All clubs want to see their juniors take the next step," Cuttriss said.
"Jemma and Stacy have got better with every game they've played. I've really enjoyed coaching both of them because they are always wanting to learn.
"I'm looking forward to seeing how they develop."
LBU was outclassed on Saturday, falling to a 21-64 defeat at the hands of Elmore.
While LBU are yet to make an official decision on next season's A grade coach, Cuttriss said she is grateful to have received the opportunity to lead the team.
"It has been a great challenge," she said.
"Trying to maintain the balance between my family, netball and work was challenging at times but I did enjoy it.
"Working with this group of girls has been a pleasure and I'm thankful for how hard they continued to work.
"I'm looking forward to going away and recharging the batteries ahead of next season."
