On August 5, Family Doctor announced it would purchase 12 of Tristar’s 29 clinics, but the announcement did not include Kialla.
At the time it was unclear what the future held for the clinic, but the administrator, McGrathNicol, has since confirmed that the Kialla clinic, that closed on May 16, would not reopen.
Ten other Tristar clinics across the Northern Territory, NSW, the ACT and Victoria would also cease to operate.
The Victorian clinics include Ararat, Avoca, Dandenong and Grovedale.
McGrathNicol partner Matthew Caddy said a buyer could not be found for the clinics.
“It is regrettable that the clinics must close,’’ he said.
“In the absence of buyers for the clinics, which are loss making, we have been left with no other option.”
McGrathNicol was appointed administrators of Tristar Medical Group on May 24 and started a sale process for the business – as a whole or in parts – shortly afterwards.
