Jazz, 12, was selected as a representative for Moama Public School, and competed at the Deniliquin and District PSSA netball trials.
From there she was selected to go to Narrandera as part of the Deniliquin squad team, and then went on to Wagga Wagga where she was chosen to represent Riverina.
Jazz travelled to Sydney as a member of the Riverina PSSA netball team to play in the state championships.
“I met lots of new people there, and it was a really good experience,” Jazz said.
“There were 140 kids from all over NSW.”
On Monday, July 25 she attended training sessions in Sydney before a three-day tournament at Netball Central in Olympic Park from July 26 until July 28.
Jazz played in goal defence and goal keeper positions during the five 40-minute games of the tournament, and locally plays for Echuca United.
“I’ve been playing netball since I was little,” she said.
Moama Public School deputy principal Isabelle Campbell said Jazz was a talented athlete who trained hard and played competitively in all her sporting endeavours.
“She shows great sportsmanship and enjoys participating in individual and team events,” Ms Campbell said.
“It has been a pleasure to see her grow as an athlete as part of her school journey.
“Some issues over the last couple of years have limited her participation; however, she has overcome times with a positive attitude to work through these limitations.
“Her motto this year to achieve and compete at her best is ‘you have to have high hopes’.”
