Campaspe ‘shero’ Alannah Wills has been co-ordinating the effort with several local businesses to collect unopened tampons, pads, maternity pads, period underwear, menstrual cups, incontinence products and intimate spray, wash and wipes.
“There is such a high demand at the moment,” Ms Wills said.
“All of the local groups apply and they all get some, but during the last drive we cleared out of them.”
Share The Dignity is on a mission to ensure everyone who menstruates has access to period products when they need them.
Pink donation boxes have been placed at Woolworths in Echuca, Moama, and Kyabram, Headspace, Roxie Echuca, Priceline Echuca and Rochester Café. All items donated during this month’s drive will go to local people who require help accessing or affording these essential items.
Since Share the Dignity was founded in 2015 it has donated over three million period products to those who menstruate through the biannual March and August Dignity Drives and the December #ItsInTheBag campaign.
