AGF Seeds is hosting the field day from 10am to noon at the company’s distribution depot at 35 Gillies St.
It will be AGF Seeds’ first field day in Benalla since the acquisition last year of Smyth Seeds, which made the company one of the leading seed-production and marketing businesses in the country.
Like Smyth Seeds, AGF Seeds is a family-owned business totally committed to continuous improvement and innovation, with an absolute focus on quality and what is best for farmers.
AGF Seeds is carrying on a long history of seed production in Smeaton and the surrounding area and has a permanent base at Benalla used as a warehouse, blending, packing and distribution point.
The company offers a comprehensive range of quality seed for cropping and pasture farming systems, backed up by an extensive trial program, farmer feedback and decades of personal experience.
The expanded company now offers a wide range of grain, forage, cover crop, bird, turf and human consumption seeds.
The field day will be an opportunity to meet familiar and new faces involved in the merged company and a chance to get an update on the range of products and solutions available for autumn sowing.
AGF Seeds promises an interactive session with updates on the latest seed trials and new species that will suit the needs of farmers, resellers, agronomists and researchers.
A similar field day at Smeaton late last year attracted more than 100 participants.
AGF Seeds has a history of three generations of seed producers, processors and more recently, seed marketing to bring the wide world of seed to Australian farmers.
The field day starts at 10am and will follow COVID-19 safety restrictions. Morning tea will be provided.
