Rochester's Australia Day celebrations will be held at the Lions Park and start with the sumptuous breakfast at 7.30 am.
This year’s breakfast is free thanks to the generous sponsorship from the Campaspe Shire.
During the morning the Odd Bods will perform, singing popular and typical Australian songs.
About 8.20 am, members of the Echuca Aero Club will perform a traditional formation fly-over, always a delight for the breakfast crowd.
The Australia Day committee will perform the flag raising ceremony at 8.30 am. The flag will be raised by Rochester Scouts with the national anthem performed by the Odd Bods.
This year’s Australia Day Ambassador is Don Abell.
Mr Abell is chief financial advisor at the Australian Institute of School and Teaching Institute. He also has leadership roles at both the Moonee Valley Racing Club and the Tasmanian Racing Board.
Mr Abell will give his address before helping Campaspe Shire Councillor Leigh Wilson present the Rochester Australia Day awards to the recipients.
